With different free ebook sample templates to choose from, you can pick one that best fits what your ebook is about. From there, include images, icons, graphics and more that enhance the material. Amazon recently unloaded a new version of their Kindle to the perhaps “less than eager” reading public.  With publishers losing over 3 billion dollars a year to eBook piracy, mostly due to the insecure Digital Rights Management of Amazon’s and other eBook retailer’s platforms, it makes you wonder how long publishers will keep selling their digital and print books through the giant online retailers.  But, most importantly, the reading public is changing their reading habits.  Each day, more and more readers are using whichever mobile device they have with them, so it makes having “extra” devices like the Kindle superfluous.

A great way to make your ebook design look more professional is to use a different font for your chapter heading (use a font from the book's cover). Be careful of copyright infringement, though, and make sure you have the license to use a font digitally. Ereaders have very few built-in fonts, so you'll need to embed the font in the ebook. Click here for instructions on how to do that using the Jutoh software.
I have taught graphics and illustrating for a long time and until I used Book Creator with my students the process was always missing something. Book Creator has given us the tool to create and deliver professional content that is worth sharing with the world I am very proud of what my students create and how their work is displayed when it is finished.

A staple for any book, both print or digital, be sure to include a table of contents in every ebook you publish. This not only gives readers a sense of how the ebook is organized, but it also makes it easy for them to reference individual chapters if they decide only certain ones are relevant to them or if they want to refer back to specific sections later. To make this even more user-friendly for your readers, some programs like InDesign make it possible for you to hyperlink chapters/sections, creating a sort of interactive table of contents and allowing readers to jump to a certain section of the ebook when they click on the corresponding link in the table of contents.
Why can't you just attach what you have to a landing page and be done with it? Word documents, PowerPoints, and similar templates are perfect for creating your ebook, but not for delivering it. Because these templates are editable, the contents of your ebook are too easily corrupted, distorted, or even lost when moving from your computer to the hands of your future leads. That's where PDFs come in.

No matter what subject your ebook takes on, research is a significant part of ebook creation. Unlike short-form content like articles and videos, the content of an ebook is predicated on trust and evidence. A user who obtains (or requests access to) your ebook wants the full story, not just the bullet points. That includes all the content and testing you went through to produce the ebook.
Ebooks these days are getting immense response for the simple reason that these are easily available. There are thousands of ebooks about everything. Starting with typography, wireframes, logo designs and apps. All those books you can find in Amazon or Apple stores. But you know that there is no guarantee that book will be useful or you will learn something new. Sometimes ebooks costs from $10 to $50 and more.
That same year, 2012, the final 3.01 version of ePub3 was approved by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF).  One of the best creations to come out of that new standard was the open source Readium Chrome eReader.  It was this invention that led to EMRE Publishing, LLC and our development of the Embellisher™ Mobile Creation, Publishing and Marketing System.  We have answered all of the criticisms made in Pontin’s article, so please allow me to go over them, one-at-a-time:

If you’re publishing an e-book, it’s obvious you’re a skilled writer, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other skilled writers out there. If you have a great online resource that you want to share with your followers, include an external hyperlink in your e-book. (Let that source know, too, and hopefully they’ll promo your content to their followers.)
I'm a seasoned professional with solid, practical expertise in writing, editing, content development, author services, print and electronic publications, public relations and media relations. While I'm flexible and enjoy variety in the work I accept, most of my work at present is with authors seeking to self-publish. I really enjoy helping them polish their work and bring their books into the world. I believe that every author has unique strengths and unique needs, so my goal is always to be flexible and find the best way of working with each particular author. I can provide editorial help at each stage of the process: developmental editing, line editing, copyediting, or proofreading. I can also provide formatting for both print and ebooks.
It also looks up to date – the layout and interface are much more accessible than those of some competitors. Lucidpress is an online program, so you don’t download it, and you store your projects in the cloud. Some may see it as a downside to need internet access to work on projects, but it’s fairly common practice nowadays. You can sign up for a free trial on Lucidpress’ site, and you can even access the software for free if you’re a student or teacher. However, the program’s project variety is what really makes it a great option. It includes publishing formats for business reporting as well as those to help educators make learning material more engaging. There’s also a space to create personal projects like family photo albums and picture books. The service makes it easy to add images and sound to your work.
