An Adobe stack expert with more than 10 years of experience, I helped out my customers with a variety of projects – from brochures to large catalogs with thousands of items. I have had uninterrupted experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and more. Have experience with e-publications, interactive PDFs, fillable forms and web design. Co-founders Nicole Smith and Richard Tapp explain the concept: “It’s a mini resource for your creative projects and food for your creative thoughts. We’ve included our own valuable references and resources we know and trust as a means to help you get your projects done. We want to give you the creative push from a direction you may not have thought of, be it informative, inspirational, or simply entertaining.”
Another design element you might want to include in your ebooks is an author page, particularly if you have multiple members of your team creating ebooks. For example, if the author of the ebook is an expert on that topic, an author page that highlights the author's bio and relevancy to the topic is a great way to add credibility to the content. On your author page, include a brief bio of the author, a headshot, and if you choose to, a way for readers to get in touch with the author if they have questions, such as an email address, Twitter username, or phone number.

Ebooks have some system of chapters and supporting images. Similar to a blog post, they also do well when further segmenting their text with subheaders that break down the discussion into specific sections. If you're writing about professional sports, for example, and one of your chapters is about Major League Baseball (MLB) in the U.S., you might want to establish subchapters about the various teams belonging to the MLB.
No matter what subject your ebook takes on, research is a significant part of ebook creation. Unlike short-form content like articles and videos, the content of an ebook is predicated on trust and evidence. A user who obtains (or requests access to) your ebook wants the full story, not just the bullet points. That includes all the content and testing you went through to produce the ebook.
I'm a professional writer, editor, and graphic designer eager to put my skills to use for your projects. My six years of daily newspaper experience, four years as a freelancer, and five years as editor of my own media company have made me a skilled and versatile communicator. I know how to craft compelling stories that help readers get a better understanding of the issues and what they can do about them. And I have a special talent for helping others make their writing stronger and clearer, all on deadline. I am grateful that my career has given me the opportunity to work in graphic design as well. My real specialty is in organizing information in designs that are both appealing to the eye and are effective in getting the intended message across. Sigil is an advanced Ebook creator utility that offers comprehensive options and configuration settings. Sigil has a user-friendly interface and offers support for XHTML, HTML, image, TXT, and video files. The split viewing mode of Sigil facilitates you to view the code and design side by side, an option mostly present in complex and paid programs. When putting together new ebooks, you have the option to design the covers, span text into multiple files by taking into account the position of a cursor or after putting markers, edit basic metadata along with role properties, as well as create a table of contents or edit the existing one. The program keeps track of all text copied to the Clipboard, save it to the history and facilitates you to paste any preferred clip. Plus, you can run complex searches with advanced files, replace keywords, as well as save searches to run them again at a later time. It contains a spellchecker and provides you the option to validate ePub and CSS styles using online services.

4.  The value of intimacy.  All other publishing systems require the author and his reader to be located inside separate spaces in the digital universe.  We have solved this problem of lack of intimacy and privacy by including an Author and Reader Forum right inside the same mobile application.  The forum has all the features of a Goodreads, but the reader and author are not relegated to a separate group within a much larger playing field of authors and readers.  The communication is between one author and his subscribed readers–not between thousands of “Goodreads Authors” and the distracted readers who subscribe to Goodreads.com.  Again, this saves the publisher and reader a lot of communication headaches as well as making the sending and receiving of digital content a private and meaningfully simple affair.   Thoreau would be proud!

15. Test how your ebook looks on different ereaders and in the retailer previews, then make needed adjustments. Sometimes, you'll get unexpected results when viewing the ebook in one ereader, while that same content looks fine in another ereader. Checking your ebook on the Amazon previewer located on your book's product page is especially important because it's common to have an ebook that looks fine on different ereaders, but that looks bad on Amazon. That preview is often the first exposure to your book that readers will have so you want to make sure it looks good. Some authors have had to email Amazon to fix previewer problems (when it is not the fault of the ebook creation).

If your eBook needs to adhere to a certain brand palette just enter the hex code of the colors you need to use to customize design elements. If it’s images that you need then you can choose from an enormous library of professional stock photos. And if you fancy yourself a bit of an illustrator, you can even upload your own drawings to give your eBook that artistic and personal touch. Best of all, uploading and using your own images is completely free!
7.  The value of marketing the final products:  the eBooks.  Once again, I found this value so important that I wrote a separate Slideshare on the topic.   The “big 5” makes this aspect of the business the cornerstone of their enterprise, and yet they are not spending the money to innovate digitally the way we have at EMRE Publishing.  They simply give the author a website and a book page and tell them, “Go ahead, make your own promotions.”  Little time, money or educational effort is spent to train their authors on how to use the digital marketing tools properly.  We do this, and it does pay off in more sales, more intimacy between the author and reader, and a happier reader experience.
Designrr made it ridiculously easy for us to create and then publish an e-book that looked great, was easy to read, and looked incredibly professional. The tools included allowed us to quickly pull in the information we needed and sort it in a way that made the book flow. Editing the content was just as easy! We were able to drop in our own media as needed throughout the book and make it really stand out. Designrr has been a critical part of our success!
After searching far and wide many months for an editor/publisher for ebooks to assist me in self-publishing a hard copy print book (2005) that is updated, modified and adjusted to run smoothly on a fully digital format, I discovered Kotobee in Sept 2015. If you’re publishing an e-book, it’s obvious you’re a skilled writer, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other skilled writers out there. If you have a great online resource that you want to share with your followers, include an external hyperlink in your e-book. (Let that source know, too, and hopefully they’ll promo your content to their followers.)

The double-payments readers have to make when they buy or upgrade (see the new Oasis Kindle above) their Kindle eReader.  In addition, the inflexible (think proprietary) nature of their eReader software prevents .ePub3 titles from using all that they are truly capable of using.  For example, all Kindles cannot utilize any interactive or JavaScript interactive programming inside an eBook the way our Embellisher (TM) platform does.   Therefore, eBooks that have interactive content (think academic textbooks) cannot be used properly inside a Kindle.
