Why can't you just attach what you have to a landing page and be done with it? Word documents, PowerPoints, and similar templates are perfect for creating your ebook, but not for delivering it. Because these templates are editable, the contents of your ebook are too easily corrupted, distorted, or even lost when moving from your computer to the hands of your future leads. That's where PDFs come in.
In the past, you would have had to learn to use a tool like InDesign and manually lay out your book, but in the age of the internet, there are free tools to do it for you. For any book that is not particularly image-heavy—meaning not a cookbook or coffee table book—the Reedsy book formatter is a great tool. All you have to do is copy and paste your text into the book formatter, insert your chapter breaks, and select your trim size. The rest is taken care of for you.

11. A professional ebook design uses standard formatting, not block formatting. This means that there is not extra spacing between paragraphs, and all paragraphs—except for the first paragraph in a chapter and the first paragraph after a scene break—are indented. We recommend a .25 inch indent, rather than the full .5 inch indent that Word gives. You can read more about standard versus block formatting in our blog post here.

So, I'm trying to activate, it simply won't work. I email support, 3-4 days of no help. It was written that I'll get a response in 24 hours or less, that was false. Without activating the product, you cannot export your eBook anywhere. I'm pretty displeased. I'll be updating this review in a week or so, maybe five days or less to inform you if the problem was handled or not. As of now, definitely not worth the money.
In summary, the real answer to this gripe session by the MIT editor is to put away conventional journalism and begin to think like a mobile developer! That’s what we did, and we think we’ve solved all those so-called “problems” in the best way possible. We not only by-pass the middlemen (those app-hating apes, Apple and Amazon), but we build brands for publishers from the ground up: with open source flexibility!

If you have a great online resource that you want to share with your followers, include an external hyperlink in your e-book. This studio will have the only way to develop “choose your own adventure” eBooks in multimedia format. Authors can link alternate plot lines to take readers to new levels of enjoyment. Young Adult authors can use this tool to hold fascinating conversations between characters. Children’s book authors can link animation, video and graphics to the “choices” to create an entirely new interaction based on the reader’s choices. Jim Musgrave believes that “story must be king,” so the “Insert Story” feature was a prime concern in the development of the studio. He was inspired by the popularity of the paper version of the Choose Your Own Adventure Books, and authors will enjoy using this tool to see what it can do for their imaginations!

Writing your book was the hard part. Now its time to bring your book to life. In the world of publishing, this means having a solid design, a clean and easy-to-read text layout, and a style that matches the message of your book. It means having a professional and eye-catching cover that will attract your target audience. It means finding someone who is both an expert designer and has a deep passion for book design. Fortunately, I am both of those things. I am no stranger to hard work, tight deadlines, and going above and beyond to create the perfect design. I’ve worked professionally in the publishing industry for more than 8 years. I spent the first 3.5 years working for a self-publishing company formatting the interior and cover designs for paperbacks, hardcovers, and eBooks in every genre imaginable. For the past 5 years, I have worked for a math company creating/designing textbooks for publishers such as National Geographic Learning, Pearson Education, and Cengage. Each of these publishers demands a high level of professionalism and expertise from every design that I create. I am an expert in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Word. I have extensive experience with typography, image manipulation, and page layout. I am very familiar with the requirements for both print and eBooks being published through Amazon KDP, Create Space, IngramSpark, and others. I am also very familiar with the PDF requirements for a book or project that is being sent to a large-scale printer, such as Lighting Source or Quad Graphics. Your project is important to me. If you’re not happy with the design, neither am I. From start to finish, I will work with you to create the design that you want for your book. No matter the genre, book size, or page length – every book deserves to look amazing. Let’s get started with yours.
5. The value of keeping authors and readers happy. The main problem of reading digital content, as we see at EMRE, is the fact that all those proprietors of information want you to be locked-in to their hardware, their software and their mobile systems in order to make the biggest profit. What has resulted is more confusion and less happiness. Not only have authors become less happy with the Amazon way of delivering their “babies,” their creative eBooks, the publishers who represent them have begun to sell directly to those same eReaders–bypassing the Amazonian experience completely. We, too, are members of this rebellion. We want to also make the creating and reading experience even simpler by keeping it inside one app and delivering all the content (even print) to keep the reader happy.
I’ve published a dozen or so books for the Kindle platform and while it’s easy to upload the finished book and fill out the forms to make them available for sale, it’s really hard formatting the books properly, even if you use Amazon’s directions. I picked up a copy of Ultimate eBook Creator myself a few years ago and I’ve found it to be easy to use and it’s never given me any trouble at all. Nitin also updates Ultimate eBook Creator regularly and adds features as people request them, and all of the updates are free.
If your eBook needs to adhere to a certain brand palette just enter the hex code of the colors you need to use to customize design elements. If it’s images that you need then you can choose from an enormous library of professional stock photos. And if you fancy yourself a bit of an illustrator, you can even upload your own drawings to give your eBook that artistic and personal touch. Best of all, uploading and using your own images is completely free!
I can convert, format, and layout your book as an eBook or print edition. I use html/css coding to create all eBooks. I don't use any auto conversion software. I have formatted many books for Amazon/Kindle (mobi file), Apple/iBooks, Barnes & Noble/Nook, Kobo, Google Play, and anywhere else that accepts ePub files. I am also familiar with Smashwords and can create both a Word doc and ePub file for their distribution channels. I have created print editions for many print on demand sites, such as CreateSpace, IngramSpark/Lightening Source, Lulu, and Amazon's paperback printing via KDP (currently in Beta). I use Adobe InDesign to create a PDF file that will comply with all requirements from these sites.
